Always shocking and devastating to hear about the passing of a young person.

I am really sorry for your loss. Sincerest condolences to the family members of Shower_Stud + his friends (including you, 09ARMYJOCK). He seems like someone who would be greatly missed.

There is hardly anything more difficult than trying to move on from the death of a beloved. If you feel in need of support, please don't hesitate to ask from us.

    Many love,

    Steven

    It's Shower_Stud, not Shower_Jock. icon_sad.gif

EDIT: just looked. Shower_Stud profile is gone, but was there only an hour or so ago.

I have to assume that Chris deleted the profile b/c whenever there's an OP of an RJ member who passes, their profile disappears within minutes.

Funny that the guy who won't act as a forum admin when some troll posts anti-Semitic or anti-gay slurs will jump at the opportunity to delete the profile of a deceased member.

Offering condolence on the loss of a loved one does not emanate from fear, but as an expression of empathy for those experiencing sorrow arising from the loss of familiarity & companionship. Accepting humanity and not being opportunistic during a moment's grief is golden.

    +1

    Sorry for your loss OP!

Admin is not our censor. Free speech - hateful or not - is free speech and its up to us as adults to mitigate without some fascistic oversight. But protecting privacy is his job and he is respectful enough to protect that person's private life from being fodder without his permission after their death. while we would like to know a fellow member after his passing, it's much better to act swiftly to guard him as we would anyone we care for, and so the policy seems very compassionate, fair, and wise.

To the thread's point, I'm sad to learn of the loss of this young man. No matter our strength and ability in a 'jockish' virtual world, it remains a fragile life - always. Condolences to his friends and loved ones.

Very sad to hear.... but glad you let us know. Sometimes guys leave the site, even some who have posted and we know nothing of where they went or why. While this is bad news for sure, we know whats up and
    can react accordingly.

Certainly will keep him in my thoughts this day!

    WTF?

Protecting privacy at this level is not any social networking site's responsibility. If that were the case, then social networking wouldn't exist.

Chris doesn't care about member rights or privacy. IF he did, then he'd monitor these forums to make sure his cut-and-paste rules and regulations were followed (i.e. no offensive photos or language on public pages).

It's likely that he deletes dead members' profiles because of some legal concern. There's no doubt in my mind that's the only reason he does it, because he sure as hell doesn't act to protect the rights and privacy of living members.

I am deeply saddened to read of Shower_Stud's passing. Unfortunately, I didn't know him, so it would have been nice to view his profile.

09ARMYJOCK said"paulflexes" - if this site thinks it's a scam, then they can contact me for proof.

as for you, you can go f*ck yourself, sh*tbag.

    report that abuse.

    Hey 09ARMYJOCK,

    *gives hug*
I know this is a terrible time of grief for you, but please try to consider that in the past the site has been taken for a few royal wild rides of grief only to find out later it was all fake. One event comes to mind that was particularly horrible, especially when the dead person resurfaced weeks later and admitted it was fake.
Understandably, some of us were suspicious, having been toyed with in that terrible way.

I feel terrible over your loss.

    grieving with you,

    -Doug of meninlove

    Very sad.

Also curious - if no one created a thread or notified admin of his passing to remove his profile, would it have stayed up, which leads to the question:

If any of us were to get hit by a car would our online profiles, wherever they may be, live forever? icon_eek.gif

09ARMYJOCK - sorry for the loss of your friend.

    Also, thanks for your service.

Don't concern yourself about some of the crap you experienced. There are folks who always will try to give others a hard time. They have significant personal issues. (Someone who wanted to raise the question of legitimacy could have asked you in a polite way to provide some proof because of internet scams. But the motivation of the crap you experienced was just to dish out crap.)
