meninlove saidWell, it's apparent that for some, clothing is far more important than the people in them.
    That's a shame, really.
If that were true I wouldn't have dated..... like anybody that I've ever dated.
I appreciate that my boyfriend actually cares about fashion though and lets me guide him with what not to wear.

Fashion is something that's very subjective. What you might find fashionable, others may not find fashionable. Simple as that. And I would hope people in London are fashionable, since their city is one of the big four fashion capitals of the world, the other three being Milan, Paris, and New York (aka an AMERICAN city).

^ New York City is the only American city that isn't fucking awful. It hardly counts as American.

So is this how we're judging people now? By the clothes they have on? You want to look good, that's great, but thinking that you're better than everyone else because of it? Sad.

Trust me as someone who has been all over the UK , France, Germany italy, etc. there are DORKS everywhere. If you're coming from some podunk town in the US,, and arrive in London, of course you're going to see a style . But you'd find it almost in any big city in the world.

I've seem French dorks, French dudes wearing jeans and hoodies,,poorly dressed swedes. No matters what country, you'll find it.

The UK has those wonderful Chavs too: lol

What's wrong with shorts? We wear them all the time in Florida cause it's too damn hot in the summer. I think we look cute with our beachy t-shirt/v-neck/polo/woven, short, sandal/sneaker look but that's just me. But we look good in shorts unlike Europeans and Northerners with their pasty ass legs when they try wearing shorts. icon_lol.gif

^ Being tan is the look of skin cancer. Even 20 years ago we could run around outside all day in the summer and hardly get burnt, but now I go out for an hour and I'll be red all over. People look best with their natural skin tone, be it pasty or dark.

Wearing shorts doesn't mean less stylish or less sophisticated.

Anyway, in New Zealand (as well as in Australia) the chav equivalent is known as a "Bogan" and I think they tend to look much more decent than their UK equivalents.
