I don't own one, but I hear I-phones are good. Is there a specific one which has a nice long lasting battery life, even with all the app, wifi and shit running in the back ground? I can't believe how expensive I-phones are GEEZ! $900!!!! But they do have I-tunes on them so that is cool. Help me guys need techie phone advise. Just e-mail or IM me.

pr0cess saidI dropped my last phone (blackberry)in the Jacuzzi. I was screaming and crying and padding the bottom of the jacuzzi to find it... My poor phone drowned with no mercyicon_cry.gif

My husband sent his Samsung through the washing machine, discovered it when he was loading the dryer. He thought maybe the jar of uncooked rice trick might bring it back, I said not after over 30 minutes of hot soapy agitation, a rinse and 2 spins. He was panicked at the thought of no phone the next day at his office, and wanted us to run out after 8 PM and buy a new one.

My better solution was to call up AT&T and have them reactivate my old iPhone 3GS with his Samsung's number, and then synced it to his computer to install all his contacts. He had a working phone back within 30 minutes, no loss of numbers, and it cost us nothing. I now always keep a spare phone in reserve as we go through upgrades, in case he does that again (or maybe I will this time).

Can you do that with any Samsung or just ones powered throught AT&T?

I have no experience with other cell phone carriers in swapping phones. My deactivated 3GS had previously been on AT&T, as was the drowned Samsung, so both were compatible with AT&T's network. Swapping phones between different carriers is not always possible.

Oh darn because I have another Samsung phone but its not through AT&T. Is this kind of similar to jail breaking?

I believe in some cases the chipsets are different and cannot be made to work with a different carrier. But that's technical stuff I'm never concerned about, maybe someone else here would know. I'd call AT&T and see, or visit one of their stores with the phone.

Not attached in the least. It stays off and I check it twice a day. It only stays on if I'm waiting for someone, then it's off. No apps, no car texting or talking.

    I have a life.

It seves its basic functions for me, call, text, [the two most important ones] internet, and music. Other than that, I'm cheating on it with my laptop.

Ironically at work, they just decided that there was a bug with emails and iPhones, so I don't really get work emails any more, which is surprisingly nice for a change icon_biggrin.gif

Sometimes I forget my phone at home, or I don't look at it for 1 day or more. I litterally forget about it for hours. I am not at all addicted to it. But when I do remember about it, i have generally no message or missed calls (except maybe my mum asking if I will be here for dinner).

    Forever alone haha

Being a busy teenage high school girl I'm glued to my phone 24/7. Gotta keep up my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, MySpace, LinkedIn, and Blogspot pages! If I don't upload a new square filtered duckface photo every day I won't be as popular as Regina!

It's never out of my sight for more then a minute.

Things I have to check every two mins:

-Whose commented and liked my status on facebook
-Which Hunk is within <1km of my radar on Grindr/Scruff
    - Who has texted what

    Things I check daily:
    -Google News App
    -Imdb App
    -Weather App

Things I do when I'm bored and don't have anything to do from the listed above.

-Play Tetrus or my current favourite: Temple Run 2

I have wasted so many valuable hours of study time while on that thing it's not EVEN funny. I practically live on the Politics board right now.

If I go to work without my phone, I feel lost. But strange enough, when I'm on vacation, I can do without it.

I don't use mine on a daily basis, but I do take it with me when I leave the house, in case of an emergency, but it's turned off. I destroyed one while riding my motorcycle; the sweat gradually killed it. I'd like to find a small zipper lock bag for it to protect it from sweat, but have not been able to fine one.

It should work on a motorcycle handlebar, too.

I build habits around my phone so I won't forget it. Socks, underwear, pants, and phone/wallet.
