Apparently half the members on this site are idiots, because I'm not the only one who is having trouble comprehending where, when, and how you answered my question.

The troll is back. Read the above where I've repeated over & over carefully & stop being a dunce even though I know it's hard for u icon_smile.gif

You suggested otherwise. If you don't condone it why bring it up in the first place especially with a tone of longing and jealousy?

Oh my god, he finally read it instead of just listening to himself talk! Now if he can only grasp what he read.....

I actually wrote some kind of response to the topic of trolling but for now that can wait a while.

Speaking of familiarity...but beyond a father and son sexual dynamic, how about familiarity of a different kind? A kind of familiarity that brings someone back to 2007 through a character called Jade Curtiss from Tales of the Abyss. It's as if the creators wrote a person into a game and literally took all of his key traits, dispositions, memories, his intellect and independence of mind, and transferred it to that one character and leaving the actual person with nothing.

    Jade_Curtiss_by_Broekhart.jpg
    TOA_OneCoinGrandeFigureCollection_Jade_0

The personality of Jade Curtiss as described from the website http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Jade_Curtiss
"He is always smiling, or at least cheerful, regardless of the events taking place around him, giving little indication of his true thoughts on anything... At first, Jade is rather enigmatic. He is sarcastic and witty, sometimes even to the point of cruelty. Jade has a snide, sarcastic response to even the most serious subjects, and loves to tease his companions... The party is often unsure of whether he is being serious or not, though Jade has assured them on at least one occasion that he is "always serious". Regardless of his impish nature, the party trusts and respects Jade for his skill, intellect, and experience... Jade's sarcastic and harsh words are often well-founded, and he uses them to express his often disapproving opinions. Other than amusement, Jade rarely shows any sign of his emotions. However, occasionally he loses his composure and his emotions burst out.... If he is furiously yowling at a character, when another asks what is wrong, he will quickly put on a small smile and act like nothing had occurred, which further rises suspicion among the party. Beneath his decidedly lively exterior lies a businesslike and scarily practical soldier's attitude... Throughout the story, Jade always seems to be several steps ahead of the rest of the party. He hardly ever appears shocked, and he always has a complex and lengthy explanation behind many of the events that stun the party. He enjoys pushing the group in the right direction, letting them think they are filling in the gaps of what they experienced, when he might have discovered the answer long before the question appeared."

I feel so embarrassed that I am at all familiar with RPG's... It is a point of familiarity that I may have with a couple people here (but only so far if I can truly recall playing them more than a decade ago) that I would wish to never have. If anything, I will be referencing or quoting from the Aeneid or the Mahabharata then RPG's released in the last 20 years, even if some of the storylines are better than the classics! It's just too... And I know I could appeal to certain people by referencing certain things, but such things, are just so beneath me these days... But I'll just bring up Jade Curtiss for the sake of it... Notice the glasses and dirty blond hair...

Hi spgem, my reference to Jade Curtiss is only familiar to one person on this website, even if he's never heard of Jade Curtiss before, as he's only a character in a video game. And if that person still has a memory of the kind of person he used to be, he would be very familiar with the look, the body and the traits of Jade Curtiss.

I believe I am familiar with your reference to Rumi, and I think you may have even used his name in poetic form through your use of rumination, but remind me who Pessoa is?

Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935)---Portugese poet (country's greatest), writer, literary critic, translator, publisher & philosopher. Notable works: The Book of Disquiet (posthumous), Message (his only published book). 25,000 pages of manuscript still being translated) Pessoa wrote in different heteronyms, mainly 4 alter egos (81 in all, talk about multiple personalities!) He was big on solipsism, Hegel, astrology & mediumship or channeling (that's how his personas came about). The Book of Disquiet, considered one of the greatest works of literature of the 20th Century, is a haunting mosaic of dreams, autobiographical vignettes, shards of literary theory & criticism & maxims. Pessoa was many writers in one. His prolific writing can be attributed to a wide range of alternative selves, each of which has a different biography, ideology & horoscope. Pessoa wrote about Lisbon like Joyce did Dublin & Kafka Prague.....

Yes, that idea of "alter egos" and "wide range of alternative selves," is something that I have been studying for the past year...enough to win the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine one day (yes, that significant, and the only non-academic in decades to do so in quite a while). I even understand somewhat the neuro-chemistry of what accounts for why tops want to top and why bottoms want to bottom. Such things will be detailed in my more formative postings in another account. And spgem, although you obviously accepted your sexuality these days, I think I may also be able to give you the capacity to really really notice girls...but such things are for another time.
