NewbieNew saidI got tired of reading all the posts about half way through because they all seemed to be saying the same thing, just using different and bigger words. But I did find this and I think that it's on topic and funny.

You gave me a reason to not hate coming to this thread and this (or any other gay community) site. thanks.

Perhaps one day I'll be able to make my feelings make sense in spite of how the race wars piss me off.

Couldn't agree more. icon_biggrin.gif With both you guys.

Maybe I posted this on another thread, but Nate Silver who did excellent poll analysis on before and after the election points out that though Latinos and African-Americans made a difference in Prop 8's passage, the real take away is that if you remove voters over 65 -- regardless of race, Prop 8 would have failed by a point or two.

The fact is Prop 8 passed by only 52%. Each time a gay rights measure comes up to vote, the margin gets tighter and tighter.

The No on 8 campaign should have done more work among Latinos and African-Americans, yes, but as the older electorate passes away, gays and lesbians will be on the winning side of these sorts of measures.
