Sweetooth saidI love them, but only with my BF.

    wow so selfish

    How is it selfish?
To me, it's too intimate for anyone. It's just taste.

I am the same way. They say hugs aren't a sex thing but to some it is. That is just how they start out. Handshakes are fine but amongst friends as oppose to business associates and acquaintances they are awkward.

Who doesn't like hugs? Except for those awkward one-armers reserved for frenemies/acquaintances, hate those!

Tonight...I think I'd be willing to pay for a hug.

God knows I could use one right now.

    Meh. I'm indifferent.

But I will freeze up half the time. You'll have to remind me to hug back

I love hugs!! well in my country, the culture is different. Here a hug is a very natural thing, like a kiss on the cheek, specially between a men and a woman or between women.
I've never hurt someone with a hug, but i know a friend who hurt his grandfather once wile hugging him too hard, and he broke his sternum.....

Hugs can be great---from people who actually know you and care about you.

I'm very uncomfortable around those who think that 'all us gay men hug when we meet'. Bleah. It's way too forward and pretty presumptuous. It also strikes me as shallow when strangers hug each other.

Sadly, the wonderful practice of shaking hands when meeting new people has gotten somewhat lost. It's the perfect combination of the 'human touch' with a polite psychological distance. It can also be very warm and endearing. You can also tell something about a person by his handshake. Often more than he'd admit on first meeting.

I come from a family who hugs everyone, so I'm used to it - giving and getting. I think they're great.

I'm glad I get hugs from my friends. I'm currently having a struggle right now and I need any comfort I can get.
