Don't all trolls live under bridges?
    FYI, Bonerpoop lives in Icelandicon_question.gif

That's what it says on his empty profile. And that's a believable claim because . . .?

They do historically have trolls in Iceland - but these days, they are everywhere.

If you want to live in NYC, you have to earn 25% more for the same you'd get in Chicago for less; there's no alleys to dump your trash, so they leave it on the street; not much green space in NY, and astronomical food prices; no 2 hour grace period for your transfer on the train; parking is ridiculous... Stay out of NYC unless you're loaded. If you bought a home in NY in 2000, you're paying significantly more than your counterparts.

New York is amazing. Lived here my whole life and I will never move. You have the beaches in the summer and the ice rinks in the winter. You have plenty of parks to go to if you're feeling the need to see grass and trees and its beautiful in the fall. Not to mention Central Park is one of the biggest parks in America. Yes it's a little expensive but it really is all worth it. Plus there is so much to do here, you won't know what to do first. Remember not everyone likes the hustle and bustle of the city so if it's not for you... You don't choose New York, it chooses you. (That last sentence should be on a shirt)

Like some of the guys said, pros and cons in each city. NYC is pretty pricey if you want to live in Manhattan. Go for where they hire you and your job industry. I met an amazing guy from Chicago midwest a long time ago. However, I like NYC for its energy and 24 hr nonstop lifestyle. Chicago maybe more laid back. Go with NYC if you can afford it. I have a friend who moved there, she paid lots for rent in a tiny studio.

Go w/ Chi-town. You won't regret it. People are so much friendlier...and that is no bull. Not to mention, O'Hare International can get you anywhere in the world.

Well thanks everyone for replying (except the obvious one of you) You have given me a lot to think about! I'm big into sports and I see there are a lot of gay leagues in NY for just about every sport. Haven't been able to find too many in Chicago through my research.

But I am scared about the high prices in NY I have definitely heard that one a lot!

Please do not move more than 500 miles without getting a report from here:

    www.astrocartography.co.uk

Consider it an advanced notice report.

One of these days I'll set up my scanner and scan the pages of my multi-city report so I can share the details of my reports.

Gone or the days where the matrix of the Solar System has no bearing on one's lifehood. There is a however. However, I have seen a chart where a RJ had no lines crossing for more than half the horizontal distance of the U.S. So, it wouldn't make a difference if he moved, say, from California to Texas. In that situation, the discussion CAN just be a comparison of the cities. Oh, but let there be a beam from the Solar System Matrix. It will definitely need to be factored into your comparisons.

Here's an example of what an Astrocartography map sort of looks like. This is a locational astrology map.

I don't take a shit in a public restroom until I've had the place charted.

If the signs aren't propitious I'd rather hold it.

If Uranus and my anus aren't in harmony, bad shit can happen.

Everyone has a different Astro-Carto-Graphy map.

So, the one above is only an example.

    Generally speaking,

if in your natal chart a planet is squaring your MC, or your north node, or your Sun, don't move to a place where that planet (or whatever Solar System Object) will double down on that square.

My birth family happened to have moved to my "God kicking it with Satan" location in the United States. Not fun.

Some may ask what is "God kicking it with Satan?" The Book of Job is the reference. The Book of Job is a copy remedy for the planet Saturn. My family and relatives are living on that place for me. Remember in the book of Job, Job still has reason to praise God, but from a sick bed. Hopefully, I can pay my dues before my personal book of Job experience gets that far.

Locational Astrology is important enough for people to suggest that it is consulted.

    Best regards, and Amen.

I've got to say something good about NYC.

Yea, it's still about the Solar System matrix, our God.

There is nothing like walking past or driving past the planetarium at night.

Flew out for the interview in August of '95. Chicago 100 degrees, 100 percent humidity. San Diego: 70 degrees, 40% humidity.

6 months later and you learn why they call Chicago "the windy city" except temps are around 20 below. Starting your car at that temp sounds like a bag of hammers dropped into a cement mixer.

NY state has issues. But, at least those issues aren't 20 below. B-)

I think ERobert's summary hit the nail on the head. Which ever city you decide on, try to find out if family or friends are already there to help you navigate the area, find the affordable grocery stores, and provide a place to crash in case you have trouble getting an apartment right away.

Either option is great, and I think you'll find the differences from Miami nice. Yes, you have to deal with winter, but you learn to like the four seasons and the fun things that come with each one. Both Chicago and New York are wonderful cities with great ethnic neighborhoods, entertainment (more comedy clubs in Chicago, more musical theater/Broadway in New York), and sports and recreation options.

You do not have to live in Manhattan if you decide on New York. Look at housing options in the outer boroughs, New Jersey, and the near suburbs as well. You do not need a car in either, though it can be nice to have one in Chicago because the Midwest doesn't have as many public transportation options for getaways as the Northeast. The neighborhoods ERobert mentioned (Lakeview, Lincoln Square, Hyde Park, Roscoe Village) are all good options in the Windy City.

Consider the positions of NY's Governor Cuomo and NYC Mayor de Blasio in buckling under to Obama's threats if they didn't lift their quarantines of suspect Ebola patients with those of IL Governor Quinn in sticking by his sensible position. Chicago wins by application of the common sense rule. Your decision could be a matter of your life and death.

I'd rather live in NY. Chicago is fun to visit; New York is fun to live in.
