If a gay man isn't shirtless/naked, what do you assume about his body?

This has to be one of the most inane replies in a thread on this site that I've ever read. You honestly don't believe that, do you?

    Are you familiar with sarcasm?

pazzy saidspeaking for myself, the ONLY reason why i even took shirtless pics or showed skin is to show that i exercise. yet obviously, some people don't see it that way though as this site is actually used and seen as a hookup and dating site. thought that was the point of the site originally BUT i guess not. would rather be judged for my personality than my looks though.

Actually, you're a good example of someone who has a good body that keeps it under wraps on gay websites (at least this one). I'd have never known you were so built if it weren't for your shirtless pics (though the blue t-shirt locker room selfie gives a strong hint). Are you SURE you'd rather be judged for your personality, lol?

A guy in a tight shirt with clearly a great chest can be as or more exciting than shirtless. Though my next thought would be to get that shirt off him...

Actually, I think when you were very new here I sent you a message telling you I thought you had the best and most entertaining bio on RJ. You made Ariodante/Bacon seem dim-witted.

I also "discovered" and would chat with MuscleComeBack when he was still very fat. And look where that got him. icon_cry.gif

It doesn't matter to me , obviously most of the non-shirtless photos are usually of blokes wearing t-shirts , and it is not too difficult to guess of how the body looks under the fabric , as a matter of fact , anticipation is always sexy !icon_smile.gif

I am not sure what you are talking about as I was very good friends with both of them. We exchanged phone numbers and PMed all the time.

First of all, Lumpyoatmeal is obviously being sarcastic. Second of all, what do you think straight men say about women when they are not around?

I work with all straight men and all day long they speculate on the anatomy of nearly every woman that goes by.

I'm saying that you're funnier than even Ariodante, who's pretty damned funny. In fact, I always thought you two the wittiest on the site. Not just for "shirtless" gay guys; any gay guys. Maybe you (and he) are used to getting lots of compliments on your minds so you'd forget some.

As for a correlation between you and MuscleComeBack (whose death saddened me as it did many)...

Years ago before Ricky Martin came out my sister was upset that the world co-opted him because he was HER "Miguel" from "General Hospital." (Imagine my pleasure then telling her that SHE with her soaps co-opted Ricky from the gays!) So I'm feeling a little proprietary in that I "discovered," may have been the first to recognize and appreciate, you and MuscleComeBack (Rhett). Like a hapless housewife with her movie magazines I like to think that, like Rhett's celebrity, if I orbit your periphery a bit of your lustre might rub off on my otherwise drab, overlooked existence.

DEKIRUMAN saidThis is something I've wondered for a long time.

If a guy has clothes on in all of his pictures, do you assume that he's in shape/hiding something.

I've always found pics shirtless in the bathroom to be a little well.....icon_neutral.gif
But it seems like without one, people just assume the worst. I've had people tell me in person "wow your pretty fit" or something to that effect. And when I ask why they are so surprised, they always mention that I have clothes on in my photos.

Do you have to be shirtless/naked for people to believe you're in shape?

LMAO, some of the hottest dudes I've been with did not look muscular until they took off their shirt. I assume if a dude has his clothes on in all his pics he's trying to discourage the dudes who just want to have sex with a hot dude. Its kind of like a vanity filter.

i'm sure some people do that.

i probably don't assume a person is super fit unless i see something that indicates it. and as a long time admirer of dudes, i'm pretty good at spotting... arm size/tone... trap line/size, below the belt shape/firmness, etc......*stares off into the distance*..... oh, where was i?

I wish that I could buy normal formal-looking shirts that fit tightly enough to show of my physique without appearing to do so intentionally. Surely there would be a demand for them.

I'm going to say no. I think you can still tell what kind of body he has even if he is wearing clothes. Especially if he's wearing form fitting clothing like tight jeans or a sleeveless shirt. Sometimes even with just a face pic, you can still tell if he's thin of heavy.

I may have misunderstood some of Your past comments.

This is an imperfect form of communication.

I seriously doubt You have a " drab, overlooked" existence.

I also miss Rhett TREMEDOUSLY. He was one of the smartest, most talented people on RJ and I admired Him greatly...

I hope all is well with You.

One thing I've learned is that you should try not to assume anything with anyone. The guy with shirtless pictures...you assume those pictures are recent when he actually hasn't updated his pictures in over 5 months. He gained weight and got lazy for various reasons.

That guy with the long profile...you assume he's a nice guy and you'll get along with him. He says what every real men wants to hear and once he starts talking, he rushes to sexual talk and picture swapping like there's no tomorrow. Unless you do what he wants, he'll cut you off like a bad relative.

The guy with no shirtless pictures. You might assume that he's nervous or not confident about his body. He works out 5 times a week and have an amazing looking body. He doesn't feel the need to advertise what he has to everyone.

These are a few examples of my point. Every word, picture, and description is a mask. Assume less and meet more real men. End of story icon_razz.gif

Thanks Cash, and it's okay; I'm an imperfect communicator for this imperfect medium. Yes, I exhibit flashes of genius (mad and otherwise) given certain insights, observations and even humor, but I'm smart enough to know that often my style can come off as obtuse when it's usually quite the opposite. I'm aware of my limitations. As for my life, I can still socially represent when it throws surprising A-list opportunities at me (example: engaging a Prime Minister at a reception my fashion designer ex threw for her) but I have to force myself.

I found Rhett fascinating even as he gushed over his Disney animation cell collection with the enthusiasm of a commemorative doll collector - while looking like end-stage Truman Capote, long before he morphed into a stud and people paid more attention to what he had to say.

If a guy is clothed in his pics, I just assume he has class and isn't easy. You can generally tell if someone's out of shape, clothes or not.
