Oh dear, trouble in paradise icon_lol.gif

Gays are responsible for the Holocaust now.......

Debra Nussbaum Cohen, reporter for Haaretz, talks with Rachel Maddow about the American Family Association firing Bryan Fisher over remarks about Hitler and homosexuality, ahead of paying to fly 60 members of the Republican National Committee to Israel.

Many members here probably already know that just over a year ago Israel dedicated a memorial to gay and lesbian victims of the Holocaust. I really don't think Israel would have done that if Fisher's "theories" about Hitler and gays were anything but paranoid fantasy.

It's good to see the Israeli press labeling the American Family Association for what it really is: a hate group. Sad that mainstream American media lack the courage and integrity to do the same.

The American Family Association, a certified anti-gay hate group, has fired its spokesperson, Bryan Fischer, but his replacement is even worse.

"Fischer's de facto replacement is David Lane, the head of the American Renewal Project, which is housed in and funded by the American Family Association.

Lane is so toxic that an op-ed he wrote for World Net Daily, the same site that regularly claims President Barack Obama is gay, was so offensive it was actually removed from the site."

What's appalling is that the Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and 60 (1/3) of its committee members are still going to Israel with funding from the American Family Association (AFA) hate organization. Which for years, through statements by its official spokesperson Bryan Fischer, has said gays were responsible for the Holocaust, and that America was founded by God for Christians. Leaving Jews and others as outcasts in this country.

I suspect it was the RNC that forced the resignation of Fischer. So that the Repubs could still take their free junket courtesy of AFA, without the distraction of his anti-Jewish & anti-gay comments.

Problem is, he's been saying them for years, and the AFA hasn't had a problem with them until the eve of this trip. In fact, as one of their official spokespersons, his were THEIR comments as well.

Oh well, throwing one of their own under the bus for the "greater good" has always been a Right Wing speciality. But it looks like the news media in Israel, which has more balls & freedom of expression than their US counterparts, isn't buying this charade so easily.

This trip may well be a disaster for the RNC, at least in Israel. Now watch Fox convert it into a triumph, while the rest of the US media stays mum. So that most Americans will be largely unaware of this Republican debacle.

This was all smoke and mirrors. Fischer is still working for AFA - is still running his radio show on - and still[ preaching his same vile messages.

He's talking about rumors of his having been fired on his show right now....

Equally depressing is that these people claim to speak for all Christians, which is NOT the case, and claim America was founded as a Christian nation, which is not the case and a lie, or a t the very least, a gross distortion of history.

    Ignorance, bigotry, fear...

AND the GOP right in the middle of it. Could it be more clear who the enemy is?

The Republicans do not care. They have already sold out their souls for $. If Hitler came returned from the dead with a chest of Gold the Republicans would all be wearing SS uniforms.
They are loud, angry and paid to be nuisances. They really have no faith in any of the causes they champion. They are more concerned about the bottom line.

Republican should be ashamed to be supporting this kind of vile bigot.
They seem to sink lower each year.
The GOP is essentially a hate group that persecutes gays and other minorities. How sad that they have fallen so far and become a national embarrassment.
