Well the battle lines are being drawn here in Kansas with upcoming elections.. (yes already).

It seems that two Kansas Reps from the state, Rep Jerry Moran, a moderate Republican representing most of western Kansas and our right wing representative (Todd Tiahrt) will be facing off for the Republican senatorial primary (seat being vacated by right wing Sam Brownback, since he isn't going to run in 2010). Our democratic govenor, Kathleen Sebellius, can't run for governor again and is considering (albeit hasn't said much) about running for the senate for that seat.

I'll be glad to see Tiahrt (we call him "Terdhart") long gone from our district.
I still can't believe this idiot actually beat our long time 18 year democratic congressman Dan Glickman in 1994 during the Republican sweep. Moran
is a good guy and I certainly would support him over Terd any day......
but it would be fantastic to see Kathleen in the general election....

Any potential political battles looming in your state?

Not really but I do like Kathleen! Damn I recall when John Carlin was your Democratic Governor in the 70s! I hope she runs for US Seante & wins. And that idiot will have to give up his seat to run in primary, no?

Down here in Florida one of our republican Senators
Mel Martinez is going home with all his marbles
Seems if he can't be in the majority
.... He just doesn't wanna Play

We might have a good chance to replace him with a Democrat

They were thinking of having Jeb run for a while icon_eek.gif
But I think they thought better keep that tainted name out of it for now
