Trump will get on Twitter and be upset over some bullshit, but I haven't heard a single mention of this storm which uprooted the lives of many in New Orleans from him or his staff....speaking of, Scruffy/Radd are you okay?

you have to exploit a community's horrific tragedy to support your anti-Trump agenda? dude....honestly....

this is terrible. it looks like only one person was killed as the storms moved eastward in Florida. RIP to this person who lost his life.

Bitch, be gone. No one's exploiting shit....it's just you would think someone wanting to be seen as a legitimate president would stop worrying about trivial bullshit on Twitter and be a leader. He hasn't mentioned one thing about this storm. Regardless of how many people died, a life is still a life. You Republicans are just the lowest of the low. Idgaf about Trump or his agenda, he and his incompetent cabinet need to get their shit together.

    don't get mad, bro. icon_lol.gif

    BTW:

according to this site it took Obama a week to tour through and look at the damages that ravaged Moore, Oklahoma back in 2013.

    https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/blog/2013/05/26/president-obama-tours-tornado-damage-moore-oklahoma-weve-got-your-back

in case you're too lazy to click on the link and do any rearch i'll post it here for you:

"It was just one week ago (May 20, 2013) that tornadoes tore through Oklahoma, devastating the town of Moore.

Today (MAY 26, 2013), President Obama traveled to the area -- visiting Plaza Towers Elementary School to offer a nation's condolences, and a promise to help Moore rebuild."

it took Obama a whole week to respond.

so please explain to me how you hold different standards for one president versus another? i'm dying to find out. icon_biggrin.gif

The difference is Obama RESPONDED and offered relief immediately after it happened. Him visiting the site a week later is completely different. Trump never went to Mississippi or Georgia after those tornadoes hit. So that's against him. As far as I'm concerned, Trump isn't even aware of this storm in New Orleans.

“Our prayers are with the people of Oklahoma today. Our gratitude is with the teachers who gave their all to shield their children, with the neighbors and first-responders.

“As a nation our full focus right now is on the urgent work of rescue.

“The people of Moore should know that their country will remain on the ground, there for them, beside them as long as it takes.

“There are empty spaces where there used to be living rooms and bedroom and classrooms and in time we will need to refill those spaces with laughter, community. We don’t yet know the full extent of the damage.

“If there is hope to hold onto to, not just in Oklahoma but around the country, its knowledge that the good people there in Oklahoma are better prepared for this type of storm than most and what they can be certain of is that Americans from every corner of this country will be right there with them.

“We’ve seen that spirit in Joplin, Tuscaloosa, we say that spirit in Boston, Breezy Point and that’s what the people of Oklahoma are going to need right now.”

    - May 21, 2013
    The day after the storm.

Did he visit the site though? No. He was too busy being petty on Twitter. Regardless of how long he was president, he's still the president and that's a full time ass job.

TO ******ACKNOWLEDGE****** A DISASTER IN A MAJOR CITY?!!??!?

Unacceptable! Instead of him attacking the media and the judges this morning, he should've mentioned it....even if slightly!

Trump spoke on the southeast tornado on January 22nd. people thought the tornadoes were over with but more occurred on the 23rd for a total of 79 tornadoes during the entire outbreak. maybe Trump is waiting in order to be certain all possible tornadoes are done. it's only been 16 hours.

he responded very fast just two days after being inaugurated. guess it depends on if you consider the final day (21st) so he was only president for a day and responded very quickly.

He's waiting two days to express empathy for a storm that's already done major damage? That makes sense. icon_rolleyes.gif

he signed for relief and allocated funds to help the area rebuild the very day of his speech. icon_idea.gif

How long did take him to acknowledge it though? The governor of Missisissippi had to CALL him to make him aware. I was even able to make a whole thread here and it went by a day before he spoke on it. Instead of worrying about domestic issues, he's over in Yemen worrying about a "potential threat".

Yes. I do expect him to drop everything and show compassion. I wouldn't care if it was 5 minutes in, the poing is he's STILL on the clock. If there was a disaster he has a duty to assure the American public...but instead he prefers to be Twitler.

one person did die but that person was in Florida.

loss of human life is the greatest catastrophe of all. homes can be rebuilt. you only get one life.

i should not have taken the bait with this thread and followed suit with your anti-Trump agenda by defending him. i am not sorry to you but i am sorry that i didn't focus on what really matters. which is restoring these people's lives and moving forward. that should be your focus as well. but it's clear you're taking full advantage of a crisis with this thread to defecate down Trump's neck.

Uhh no, just because Trump's dick is halfway down your throat, doesn't mean that this thread was entirely about him. I did ask if a fellow RJer was okay because like I said, this storm went largely ignored, but it was still a major storm that caused a significant amount of damage ro a major US city. It was an F3 Tornado from how I understand it. Shame on the media as well for the bare bones coverage.

Stating facts about Trump qualifies as an "assault"?

i do agree that the media didn't give any coverage to this and it makes me wonder why. i was glued to my smartphone reading up to date news throughout the day today while on a train for over an hour. i'm shocked it wasn't mentioned at all.

would discredit or insinuate be better words to describe your opinion on Trump?

No, because discredit sounds like I'm not giving him credit for something he's done (which he hasn't here) and insinuate makes it seem like I'm skirting around the issue when I'm not. He has not discussed this one time and the proof is in the pudding aka his Twitter feed. YET, he's all over Nordstrom.
