I support equality of opportunity for athletes but I think there's room for discussion when it comes to fighters.
There's much less of an issue with FTM, except for the precedent, which would convey legitimacy of hulking MTF fighters potentially beating the hell out of cis female competitors.

Joe Rogan has expressed this opinion as an expert in MMA without inserting himself into advocacy.

In this short clip he's discussing it with Ben Shapiro, who makes the final point well, dissecting alleged sexist comments about the Tennis phenom Serena Williams.

Neither one gets sloppy with language, so don't get triggered by the name and start a riot.

...not directed at you Metta..the other peeps

This longer clip respectfully discusses the larger issue of competitive sports, by Joe, who's a fairly liberal commentator.

what I do not understand is what level of trans becomes man/woman? If I am a man, biologically, and I say I am a woman, mentally, do I get to compete as a woman? I am a powerlifter. That is my passion. Not that I would but can I walk into a powerlifting completion and say I am a woman, I feel I am a woman, and compete in the women's division?
And if biology doesn't count, can I say I am Black? Not biologically but mentally? And thus, if physical does not matter but only my mental can I park in Handicapped spots saying well, physically I am in my mind handicapped even though biologically I am fit and able? Doors open

Finally, someone who's not afraid to question what doesn't make any sense... If the physical features are just that obvious, and they still want to switch sides, a full mental evaluation is nessessary to confront their discomfort in life and why they feel that way... it's safer than being radded out negatively by the public.

Think the line should be drawn when it comes to many competitive sports. MTF went through puberty as a male and have stronger bones, muscles (genetics willing) and such.

Some sports I think men and women can compete together, some they can not.

My opinion has swayed against for almost all sports. There's a logical, biological, reason there are separate divisions for men and women.

In combat there's an obscenely obvious one.
In the others, like vanquishedangel implies, there's just an unfair advantage. And there's a lot at stake for the cis competitors...team position..scholarships..contracts.

Go play on a lower league, for fun, if they'll invite you. But please don't make one dissolve because of your lawsuit. Please..

Am I wrong? It is the epitome of a disposable social construct, if it requires the denial of reality to accommodate it.
