I was told to do a lot of heavy squats. That was the best exercise for your rear end and legs.

Lots of various different types of exercises actually work the butt like reverse lunges, lunges, squats, crossack squats and so on.

    Burpees
    Pistol squats
    Hip raises
    Arm and leg lifts
    One legged hip raises

However doing only one type will only do so much.

I would agree with any program that you advocate ;-)

Hip thrusts target the gluets very well. I use a bar bell with 55lbs on each side and slowly increase the weight by 5lbs (each side) after every set. I do a total of 20 thrusts/set.
