Very interesting and informative. He hits on some very valid points about how the knees take the brunt especially when doing squats with improper and wrong form. However, the only drawback is when doing these suggested warm ups in a crowded gym could become problematic with some of these hard core guys yelling cat calls and insults at you.

I learned this the hard way, which is why I only use the safety squat bar now. Unfortunately most gyms don't have them.

Just dropping down into a squat position (at my 6'7 height and long-suffering knees) evokes gibbers. I keep the knees WHOLLY out of it and put the work on the thighs and butt.

My trainer has all his clients use the hack squat machine because it's a lot safer.

So if our knees don't bend is it a squat?
