I've admittedly gained a bit more than I would have like over the last year (If I had an excuse I would put it here).

Back on the wagon from tomorrow. Any advice you can give me?

I love learning and reading but I don't have the time to sit down and read a book. I've toyed with the idea in the past to buy audio books but always decided against it due to the price of an audio book almost always being more expensive than just the book itself. And that makes sense since the narrator, who usually has a great sounding voice, needs to get paid for reading an entire book flawlessly. So I can understand why they're more expensive. Not to mention, I've always looked for used books in the past as a way to save money. I've purchased used books online in the past for as little as one cent!

But now I've decided to bite the bullet and pay for audio books because as I get busier with life and have less time than ever I'm realizing that I'm missing out on so much. I love learning and growing so I'm going to treat myself to at least one audio book a month.

I am hoping for the following:

    • Continue to travel as much as I can, I was in Spain and Portugal for 2 weeks and I had an amazing time. Not sure what travels this year but will start planning, but New Zealand, Europe and Asia are in the planning list.

    • Find a new job/as well as consulting work – my company got purchased and my last day was Dec. 20th. So, while one door closes, many will open with new opportunities and insight for the new coming year.

    • Try to read a book literally, like Fart_Echoes has mentioned learning and reading– I started in Madrid, stop at a book store in Gran Via and bought Aguilas en Guerra by Ken Kane. I always loved history and this fiction story is about a Germanic Roman centurion in the 9 d. C and his conflict between being a German tribe warrior and Roman centurion and how to start to overthrown the Romans out of German territory and unite the Germanic tribes against the Romans to have liberty again. There is a constant conflict in him of what Rome has brought and went he was sent to Rome as a young man (Engineering, Roads, Culture, Civilization, Slavery, Oppression, etc.) and his long for liberty. Anyway, it is getting back to my Spanish which I love, on page 307 now, to 483 the final page. I also noticed a difference when I read something in my iPad versus a book not sure why but I feet to retain more information with the book itself it might be a psychological thing.

    • In terms of fitness – continue intermittent fasting, weight lifting, and trying to get back into swimming more as well as my road cycling got more cycling winter clothing.

We all make new years resolutions to try and better ourselves.....

For me, I've been trying to fix my ear/nose/throat problem for over a decade now, I hope 2020 will be the last and final year of it. I want to live and sleep like a "normal" person, not wakeup at night choking on post-nasal drip, and take meds that don't really work/clear it out.
