Hey Art! Palm Springs basically got shut down on Sunday.. I was at a brunch with several friends then gym then went by bars which were literally locking the doors at 4pm. Went home, watched Netflix, looked at internet. Monday I went to my condo property manager and let her know that I was free to shop for anyone in our complex that could not go outside for any reason. Been running back and forth to all the local grocery stores since then. Met some great neighbors and feel a sense of purpose besides hiking, biking and golf. Gay center here in Palm Springs has a food bank on Thursdays and I know the guys who run it so I am heading over with my pickup to see if they need someone to deliver food to homebound seniors or large single parent families.
Yeah, our friends in Palm Springs tell us the same. And now we’re shut down, too!
Great ideas! I just read a story that local food banks/pantries could be hurting during this. And we support our local one, Poverello, that’s specifically for HIV/AIDS clients. I’ll make a point of visiting it tomorrow.
And our condo is largely elderly. I had already intended to visit some of our elderly neighbors (Hell, some are younger than us! YIKES!). So we’re on the same sheet of music. Good for you! Otherwise we’re just idled here doing nothing, what else we gonna do? Waste time on the Internet? LOL!
