People are leaving in droves. People are sick with the coronavirus and can't escape!
It's a cement cesspool and I read that one of the reporters wo lives in a shit shack of
an apartment was dreaming of a small midwest or western town with big spacious
    views and fresh air.
Looks like the walls are closing in! I do feel bad for so many who
are stuck and now until at least April 30th.

I couldn't live in NYC. I've been there a few times. It was fun to visit but I never liked how crowded it was.

Be that as it may, I liked NYC. It's truly a cosmopolitan epicenter for American culture, history and character.

I've always liked east coast people and tend to vibe well with New Yorkers.

My heart goes out to them during these horrendous times.

I agree! I like New Yorkers too and I get along exceptionally well wit them. They tend to
have a no BS attitude and I can roll with it, generally. :-)

It's crazy to see all this shit going down so hard on them I think many will suffer from all this pandemic stuff.

Not only New York but also New Orleans and Los Angeles as well. They are well on their way to becoming Coronavirus epicenters. In fact, the State of Louisiana has the world’s fastest growing number of Covid-19 cases and shows no signs of slowing down.

I wonder what people who live with many room mates in cramped quarters or in studios are now doing. They must be climbing the walls.

Both Connecticut and New Jersey are getting flooded with Coronavirus refugees fleeing NYC. Both those states are facing quarantine along with NYC. A very grim situation indeed.

I would visit New York only as tourist it is not for me. I lived in New Jersey for 6 months and I just could not get accustomed to the people and the congestion. I feel for the people of New York but it goes back again to the leadership that at the time was more interested in political correctness than the public safety of its citizens.

New York Public Health Commisioner - Dr. Oxiris Barbot that told everyone on February and New Yorkers to continue doing their daily habits in New York (subway, etc.)when a full pandemic was going on. If this woman does not end up in the chopping block for her negligence there is no justice for New Yorkers and everyone else. She should be brought up with criminal charges.

Hold up now.... Why should she? She was saying nothing different from what POTUS was stating.

In February, I visited NYC for the first time in 26 years, and it was awesome... such a great city. But, right now, I'm happy to be in sleepy SE Iowa, where my county still has no reported cases of COVID-19 (the 5 surrounding counties all have at least one case.)

I love to visit, used to go there for work once in a while too.
But, it's not for me as far as being permanent.

I was on the road today and I've never seen so
many New Yorkers! All out hiking and around.
I guess the smart ones finally figured it out.

Stay safe, even the foul mouth ones.
