A 400-year old ship has been found in the Baltic Sea

    What's amazing is that it is of course wooden ship and usually they degrade very fast, but Baltic sea is unique , thanks to its low salinity, cold water and low oxigen levels, ship is in miraculously good condition.

    That is very interesting how a very old wooden ship has survived pretty much intact being under water for so long. Salt is very destructive to any type of surface and it is good that the Baltic Sea has very little salt in its water. If this was in either the North Sea, the White Sea, the Arctic or Atlantic Oceans, this old wooden ship would have pretty much been disintegrated by the salt and stronger currents.
