Facebook tumbled 4% on Monday and another 2.2% on Tuesday as shareholders dumped the stock, likely fearing the ban could drive users off the platform. By the time markets closed on Tuesday, Facebook's market cap sat $47.6 billion below its Friday level.

Twitter plunged 6.4% to start the week and dipped another 2.4% as the sell-off continued into Tuesday's close. The declines saw Twitter's market cap drop by $3.5 billion.

What would you expect big tech has been canceling people for years and promoting their own agendas on the world populous and interfering in politics in doing so,leaving the door wide open for some authoritarian
Despot to grasp the control with both hands ,and destroy true liberty and freespeech.these lot who are doing it at big tech are unaccountable and that is bang out of order whilst their Sat on their arses punching a keyboard whilst drinking a skinny latte ,cancelling anyone they disagree with that does not share their view, like they think they are the righteous moral arbiters ,only because they say so.
People generally worldwide know this and are getting wise to them, and big tech fears that

So you're saying profits are more important than integrity?

Yep, that sounds like a Trump supporter.

Really! well ok explain why so many have been cancelled worldwide over the last 8+years whether it be gender gap wages or other varying advocates of other things ,leadership has nothing to do with it as the censorships predate politicians terms in office and there is a wide word noticing it.when freedom of speech is destroyed what comes next civil liberties.there needs to be some accountability and responsibility THAT
WOULD BE FAIR don't believe me? ask someone like Germaine Greer or better still John cleese. the list is endless take your pick

Little to do with closing Trump's accounts. Twitter isn't getting enough revenue from ads, and thus is contemplating other revenue sources. When earnings come down, so does a stock price. Facebok will do very nicely in the long run, because it gets so much $$$ in advertising, and is making money off of small businesses. In fact, its stock price is about the same level it was on January 8 - right after Trump's riots at the Capitol, having declined, and then rocketed up (and now declining again). That's the nature of the stock market these days for most stocks.
