The word police flex their homophobic muscle: Three weeks before the inaugural events of what was to be known as the Gay Olympics, the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) filed a lawsuit seeking to ban Tom Waddell's organization from using the word "Olympic" in its name. The courts sided with the USOC, and the "O" word was replaced with "Games".
